1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you,

whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?

You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own].

So then, honor and glorify God with your body.”

Taking care of our temples is the way we can be obedient to honoring and glorifying God with our bodies.   Besides it’s the ONLY one you will have the privilege of properly take care of it.  Unfortunately, we have neglected the care of our temples from the inside out.  It’s time to clean them up!

Food is given to us by God, but man has decided that adding chemicals to preserve food would be a good idea.  It’s cheaper and easier to drive thru the fast food lanes, buy processed foods that will last instead it has made us more unhealthy than ever before in history.  In attempts to clean up the temple that God gave us, our bodies have you ever considered  God’s way of eating?  He created them for our substance and enjoyment.  “And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. Genesis 1:29   “My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Proverbs 24:13  Try cutting out some of the fatty foods that are causing your pants size to go up.  It is said, “eat the rainbow”.  It means eat more fruits and veggies than chips and dips.  But they don’t taste as good, right?  Try it! It’s too expensive, you say?  BUT God’s says,  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:25-26

When Jesus was hungry in the desert for 40 days  and 40 nights the enemy was there tempting him, and he said, “But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 Because He knew that above all else His temple needed spiritual food far more than physical food and “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

In getting your temple ‘cleaned out’, start with small changes and remember that “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
